Chris has lived in the Sacramento region for over 30 years. After graduating from the University of California Davis with a political science degree, he began working at the California State Legislature in both Capitol and District offices.

For the past nineteen years, he has worked as a Consultant to Senators serving on the Senate Rules Committee.  In this capacity, he evaluates Governor’s appointees serving on boards and commissions such as the Central Valley Flood Protection Board, State Water Resources Control Board, and many other water related entities in the state. Based on this review, he advises Senators on the competency of the Governor’s appointee and if they should be confirmed, but also provides recommendations on how to improve the operations of the specific board or commission.

Throughout his legislative career, he has also served as the Consultant to the Senate Select Committee on Defense and Aerospace. Here he worked to expand the Aerospace and Spaceflight industries in California, protect Military Bases from closure, promote economic development and support Veterans.

Chris and his husband moved to the Natomas basin in 2012 for the quality of life the area provides its residents. They enjoy the sense of community and are active participants in their neighborhood where they continue to support rescue animals.

Chris wants to ensure the work of Reclamation District 1000 continues its tradition of protecting the lives and property of its residents while planning for the growth of businesses and housing in the Natomas region. His goal is to make residents aware of the critical services provided by the District and continue efforts to bring the District and the Board operations into the 21st century.
