Kevin L. King
Kevin King is an enthusiastic and energetic leader, and his work ethic, purposeful. He serves as the General Manager of Reclamation District No. 1000 (RD1000), a California Special District and one of the largest reclamation districts in California. King leads the District’s efforts to provide flood protection and public safety to residents, businesses, schools, agriculture, and critical infrastructure located in the Natomas Basin. He oversees all District operations that are critical to the mission and forges quality partnerships to move the District forward.
King has nearly two decades of experience working in water & power operations management at Irrigation Districts in Solano and Stanislaus Counties. His expertise spans district rehabilitation, modernizing water conveyance infrastructure, personnel development, and leading districts’ development of water policy.
King has a Bachelor of Science, Major in Agricultural Systems Management with a Minor in Water Science and a Minor in Agriculture Business from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He also earned an MBA in Business Administration from California State University, Stanislaus.
When King is not working on water-related issues, he enjoys working on his family’s 4,000-acre ranch raising nearly 400 head of all-natural – grass-fed cattle.
